The Passing Has Occurred of Anne Gannon (née Daly) Better Known as Doll from Kantara," Breaffy Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Formerly of Westport Co. Mayo

Mayo Hospice

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Gannon (née Daly), affectionately known as Doll, of “Kantara,” Breaffy Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Westport. Doll passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2025, in the compassionate care of the staff at Mayo Hospice, Castlebar, surrounded by her devoted family.

Doll was predeceased by her beloved husband Austin (Austie), her cherished sons Joe, John, and Michael, her parents Nora and Tom, and her sisters Kathleen and Betty and brother Thomas.

Dedicated Mother

A woman of unwavering love and kindness, Doll was a dedicated mother to Anne, Tommy, Olive, Alan, and Karen, who will forever cherish her memory. She will be deeply missed by her heartbroken daughters, sons, and their partners, her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her niece Ann, her cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.

Gentle Spirit

Doll was a woman of strength, warmth, and generosity, whose gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a pillar of love and support for her family and a friend to many.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing: Doll will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar (F23 FD90), on Sunday, February 23rd, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, where friends and family are welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral Mass: A Requiem Mass to celebrate Doll’s life will take place on Monday, February 24th, at 11:30 am in St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy. The Mass will be live-streamed for those unable to attend and can be viewed here

Burial: Following the Funeral Mass, Doll will be laid to rest in The New Cemetery, Castlebar, where she will be reunited with her loved ones.

In Loving Memory

Doll’s life was one of kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for her family and community. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, warm heart, and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
