




The passing has occurred of Bridie Lally (née O’Boy) from Lavagh, Drumsna, Co. Leitrim and formerly Monivea, Co. Galway, on Tuesday, 18th March 2025
A Life Remembered
Born on 20th August 1933, Bridie Lally (née O’Boy) departed this life peacefully on 18th March 2025, while in the gentle care of the staff at Kenbrook Care Home, Wembley, London. Bridie was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and strong sense of family left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Originally from Lavagh, Drumsna, Co. Leitrim and with strong roots in Monivea, Co. Galway, Bridie’s journey through life brought her from rural Ireland to the heart of the Wembley community in the UK, where she built a life grounded in love, resilience, and faith.
In Loving Memory
Bridie is predeceased by her beloved husband Christy (formerly of Kilbeg, Monivea), her loving parents William and Kate, and her siblings Molly, Nancy, Kathleen, Pat, and Billy. Their memory, along with hers, will be lovingly cherished by all who survive her.
She will be deeply mourned by her devoted children Deirdre, Noel, Christine, and William; their partners Paul, Linda, Steve, and Roisin; her adored grandchildren Joseph, Emma, Benjamin, Matthew, Daniel, Lucy, Oliver, and Grace; her dear brother Michael; sisters-in-law Olive, Bridie, and Sheila; as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended family members, neighbours, and lifelong friends across Ireland and the UK.
Funeral Arrangements
A Mass of Thanksgiving in honour of Bridie’s life will be held in St. Erconwald’s Church, Wembley on Monday, 7th April.
Following this service, Bridie will return home to Ireland where her Requiem Mass will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, 9th April in St. Mary’s Church, Menlough, Co. Galway (H53 HF10).
After Mass, Bridie will be laid to rest in the peaceful surrounds of Doonane Cemetery, alongside her beloved Christy.
Remembering Bridie
Bridie was a woman of unwavering faith, generous spirit, and quiet strength. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — a chat over tea, a moment of laughter with her grandchildren, or the comforting rituals of her faith. Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
