The Passing Has Occurred of Cathal Molloy, Drimnacrosh, Glenties, Donegal & Dublin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cathal Molloy, who departed this life peacefully in the compassionate care of the staff at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Cathal was a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, known for his kindness, warmth, and the joy he brought to those around him.

A Life of Love and Friendship

Cathal was predeceased by his beloved parents, Sonny and Bridie, and is now reunited with them in eternal peace. His life was one filled with love, laughter, and strong connections, leaving behind treasured memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Deeply Missed, Fondly Remembered

Cathal’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his devoted brothers Shaun (Geraldine) and Seamus, his loving sister Evelyn (Michael), his nieces Elaine and Laura, his nephews Mike, Gerard, and Shane, and his adored great-nephews and great-nieces. Also grieving his loss are his extended family, cousins, and his wide circle of wonderful friends, who will forever cherish his kindness and generosity.

Funeral Arrangements

Cathal will be reposing at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara (F94 A250) on Thursday, February 20th, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by removal to his home in Drimnacrosh (F94 TOV6).

On Saturday morning, February 22nd, Cathal’s funeral procession will leave Drimnacrosh for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties, followed by interment in the local cemetery.

A Final Tribute

Cathal was a man of deep kindness and an unwavering friend to many. His presence brought light to every room, and his legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made, if desired, to Friends of Letterkenny Hospital, c/o James McGuinness & Sons, Funeral Directors, Main Street, Glenties, or through any family member.
