It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jimmy) Lowry, formerly of Lissergool, Tibohine, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, and more recently of Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. Jimmy passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Roscommon University Hospital.
Predeceased by his dear son Vincent, Jimmy will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his heartbroken family. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, daughters Ann (Giblin) and Mary (Duffy), sons Andrew, J.J., and Stephen, and his adored grandchildren Rachel, James, Niamh, Niall, Ian, Daniel, Kyle, Eoin, Emma, Jamie, and Henry. He is also mourned by his sisters Teresa, Ann, and Patsy, sons-in-law Matt and Adrian, daughter-in-law Fiona, J.J.’s partner Yvonne, as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.
House private, and family flowers only, please. Donations in Jimmy’s memory can be made to Parkinson’s Ireland. May he rest in peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Jimmy will repose at Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen, on Friday from 5:00pm. His removal will take place at 7:30pm to St. Baoithin’s Church, Tibohine, arriving at 8:00pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00pm, followed by burial in Tibohine New Cemetery.
