The Passing Has Occurred of Máire Ní Chéilleachair from Goirtín na Coille, Ballingeary, Cork & Waterford
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Máire Ní Chéilleachair of Goirtín na Coille, Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh, Co. Cork, and formerly of Ring, Co. Waterford. Máire passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025, in the tender care of the staff at Bantry General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
A dedicated and passionate educator, Máire was a retired teacher at Coláiste na Rinne and was highly respected in both her professional and personal life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Predeceased by her beloved siblings Dan Seán, Joan, Anne, and Angela, Máire is survived by her devoted sister-in-law Joan, her caring brother-in-law Micheál, and her beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews, including Seán, Eibhlín, Pádraig, Cáit, Siobhán, Áine, Dónal, Liam, Kathleen, Ellen, Patrick, Joan, John, Mícheál, and Noreen. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family, her many dear friends, and her wonderful neighbours, all of whom treasured her warmth, wisdom, and kindness.

Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Casey’s Funeral Home, Inchigeela, on Friday, 21st February, from 7:00 PM, with prayers at 8:30 PM.
Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, 22nd February, at 12:00 noon, in Ss. Finbarr and Ronan’s Church, Ballingeary. Following the Mass, Máire will be laid to rest in Inchigeela Cemetery.
A Life of Love and Dedication
Máire was known for her unwavering kindness, her deep love for the Irish language and culture, and her commitment to education. She was a guiding light in her family and community, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear. Her generosity of spirit and the wisdom she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, from her students to her family and friends, who will cherish the memories of her gentle presence, kind heart, and enduring love.
