The passing has occurred of Mairín O’Ceallaigh (née Kelly) from Dun Na Mara, Renmore, Galway, on 3rd April 2025.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mairín O’Ceallaigh (née Kelly), of Dun Na Mara, Renmore, Galway, and formerly of Tobinstown, Tullow, Co. Carlow, on Thursday, 3rd April 2025. Mairín passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to those closest to her.

A Life of Love and Devotion

Mairín was a woman of extraordinary grace, quiet wisdom, and a deeply loving heart. Her life was shaped by her strong values, her commitment to family, and her enduring faith. A native of Tobinstown, Co. Carlow, she later made her home in Renmore, Galway, where she became a beloved presence in the community.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her loving husband Micéal, whose memory she held dear every day of her life.

Cherished by Many

Mairín’s greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted and dearly loved mother of Coilín, Feargal, Fichra, Conn, Ruairí, Ciarán, Cormac, Daoire, Niall, Fiona, and Eoin. Her strength, kindness, and unconditional love formed the foundation of their lives.

Profoundly Missed

She will be profoundly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her treasured daughters-in-law and son-in-law, and her loving sister Vera (Griffin). Also grieving her loss are her nieces, nephews, her extended family, caring neighbours, and a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by Mairín’s warmth, generosity, and humility.

Funeral Arrangements

Mairín will repose in Áras Naofa, in the grounds of St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Renmore, on Sunday, 6th April, from 4:30pm, with removal to the adjoining church at 6:00pm.

Her Requiem Mass will take place in St. Oliver Plunkett Church on Monday, 7th April, at 11:00am, after which she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Micéal in Rinville Cemetery, Oranmore.

As we say goodbye to Mairín, we entrust her soul to God’s eternal care. May she find rest in the embrace of everlasting peace and joy, reunited with Micéal and all those who have gone before her.
