It is with profound heartbreak that the family of Mary Murphy announce her sudden and unexpected passing on Friday, 4th April 2025 at Cork University Hospital. Born in the beautiful Maharees of Castlegregory, Co. Kerry, and later settled in Dawstown, Blarney, Mary touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and fierce love for her family.

A Life Rooted in Family and Love

Mary was the devoted wife of the late Tom Murphy, and a truly beloved mother to Geraldine, Eileen, Eugene, Tim, and James. Her life was a shining example of unconditional love, quiet strength, and selfless care.

A cherished grandmother to Rebecca, Ryan, Ciara, Kevin, Harry, and Sarah, Mary found immeasurable joy in her role as “Nana,” always offering a listening ear, a warm hug, and wise counsel.

She was a treasured sister, loving aunt, and a steadfast friend to many. Her home was always open, her table full, and her heart even fuller.

A Sudden Goodbye

Mary’s passing came as a great shock to all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and steady presence leave behind an immeasurable void. Whether it was her deep connection to her native Kerry or the life she built in Cork, Mary brought people together and made each person she encountered feel seen and valued.

Funeral Arrangements

Mary will repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig on Monday, 7th April, from 4:00pm, with prayers at 6:00pm.

Her Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday, 8th April, at 12 noon in St. Joseph’s Church, Courtbrack, followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery, Garrycloyne.

A Final Blessing

Mary’s life was a blessing to all who knew her, and her sudden departure is a painful reminder of the fragility of life. Yet, in remembering Mary, we are comforted by the rich legacy she leaves behind — a legacy of love, resilience, generosity, and deep family roots.

She now rests peacefully, reunited with her beloved Tom, watching over her children and grandchildren from above. May her kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
