It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olive O’Mahony (née Jennings), who departed this life on Sunday, 6th April 2025, following a short illness. Olive passed away at Cork University Hospital, surrounded by the love of her devoted family, just as she had lived—with strength, grace, and quiet dignity.
A Life of Love, Family and Kindness
Originally from Bridgestown, Inniscarra, and in recent years a resident of Innishmore Square, Ballincollig, Olive was a woman of deep compassion and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Connie, with whom she shared many cherished years. In more recent times, she found renewed companionship and warmth with her loving partner Dan, who stood by her side with care and devotion.
Olive was a proud and loving mother to Donal, Marie, Martin, Kenneth, Raymond, Patricia, Shirley, and Stacey. She was a constant source of strength and wisdom to her children, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and welcome.
Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend
Olive’s legacy lives on in her large and loving family. She was adored by her sons-in-law T.J., Minde, and Robert, and her daughters-in-law Melissa and Majella, all of whom she held close in her heart. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she took pride in watching them grow, always offering words of encouragement and love.
She is fondly remembered by her brother Michael, along with her nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours, and the many friends whose lives she touched over the years.
Olive had the rare gift of making everyone feel seen, valued, and welcome. Her kindness, sense of humour, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Olive will repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig, on Tuesday, 8th April, from 7:30pm, with prayers at 8:30pm.
A Requiem Mass to celebrate Olive’s life will take place on Wednesday, 9th April at 1:00pm, in the Church of Christ Our Light, Ballincollig, followed by burial in St. Oliver’s Cemetery.
