The Passing Has Occurred of Oliver Johnston from Newport, Mayo & Ballinasloe, Galway
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Oliver (Ollie) Johnston, of Derrygarve, Newport, Co Mayo, formerly of Ballinasloe, Co Galway, on February 20th, 2025, peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Ollie will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Geraldine, and their cherished sons Aaron, Dylan, Mark, and Jack. He will also be lovingly remembered by his parents, Tony and Mary, his mother-in-law Phyllis, and his siblings Anthony, Liam, John Paul, Francis, and Christopher, as well as his sister Jennifer, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours, and friends.
May Ollie Rest in Heavenly Peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Ollie will be reposing at St. Dominick’s Funeral Home, Newport (F28 H862) on Saturday, February 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
On Sunday, February 23rd, a Requiem Mass will be held at 11:30 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Newport, for the repose of Ollie’s soul. Burial will follow afterward in Burrishoole Cemetery.
The family requests that the house remain strictly private at all times.

A Loving Tribute
