The Passing Has Occurred of Patrick (Pat) Hourihan from Ovens, Cork & Kenmare, Kerry (Retired Garda Síochána)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Patrick (Pat) Hourihan, formerly of Cappagh, Kenmare, Co. Kerry, and more recently residing in Ovens, Co. Cork. Pat passed away on February 12th, 2025, at Marymount Hospice in Cork, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Pat was predeceased by his infant grandson, John Reuben, as well as his parents John and Mary, his brother Connie, and his sister Hannah. He leaves behind his beloved wife Maura (née Lyons, Castleisland), his children John, Pádraig, Anne Marie, and Irene, and his sons-in-law Brian and Bernard. He is also mourned by his daughter-in-law Rebecca, John’s partner Magdalena, Pádraig’s partner Rebecca, and his six cherished grandchildren Christopher, Peter, Daisy, Séamus, Billy, and Tomás.
Pat will also be deeply missed by his sisters Maureen (U.S.A.), Peggy (U.S.A.), and Kitty (Kenmare), his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends, and former colleagues in the Garda Síochána. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Pat will repose at his residence in Ovens on Friday evening, February 14th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. His removal will take place on Saturday morning, February 15th, arriving at St. John the Baptist Church, Ovens, for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
