It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Woods (née Hamill), of No. 1 Blaeberry Walk, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, formerly of Tullynahinera, Castleblayney, and Forest Hill, London, on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025. Rita passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Forever Remembered
Rita was predeceased by her parents Mae and Tommy, as well as her brother Arthur and her sister Marie. She leaves behind her beloved husband Peter, her son Jason, and her daughter Petrina, who will miss her dearly. Rita is also fondly remembered by her brother Brendan, her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Funeral Arrangements
Rita will repose at Wards Funeral Home, Castleblayney (A75 NP30), on Friday, March 7th, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, where friends and family are invited to come and pay their respects.
On Saturday, March 8th, 2025, Rita’s funeral cortège will arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Following the Mass, Rita will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
Donations in Lieu of Flowers
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Castleblayney Cancer Society, either through Wards Funeral Home or by the donation box at the church.
Privacy Request
The family respectfully requests privacy at their home and on the morning of the funeral. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the support, sympathy, and kindness extended to Rita’s family during this difficult time. Your prayers and condolences below are deeply appreciated.
